The piece that defines the brand
Every brand has a hero product — the piece that most completely expresses what the brand is. For Viel & Co, that piece is the Dolomiti Coaches Jacket. It is not the most accessible price point in the range. It is the piece that most clearly says what this brand stands for.
We made it because the coaches jacket is one of the few silhouettes in menswear that genuinely bridges the gap between athletic heritage and refined dressing. Worn correctly, it communicates exactly the aesthetic we are after — casual enough for the trail, considered enough for the city.
What makes this version different
The Dolomiti version of the coaches jacket is built around restraint. No excessive branding. No reflective panels or technical-looking hardware that signals performance without delivering it. The cut is traditional — slightly boxy in the way that alpine workwear has always been slightly boxy, allowing for movement and layering underneath.
The fabric has been chosen for a specific hand feel: substantial enough to feel considered, light enough to move freely. It is a jacket you can wear from September through April in most of Europe with appropriate layering beneath.
How to wear it
The coaches jacket works in three distinct registers. First, casual — with straight-leg trousers or denim and a simple base layer, it reads as considered but effortless. Second, layered — worn over a knit or mid-weight crewneck in colder months, it becomes a functional outer layer without losing its shape. Third, smart-casual — paired with well-cut trousers and a camp shirt, it elevates without overdressing.
The key in all three is that the jacket does not need to be explained. It carries its own logic. Wear it with confidence in what it is.
Who it is for
It is for someone who has stopped buying things for the trend cycle and started buying things to keep. If that is you, this is your jacket.
